Although much is always made of the Southbank Exhibition in London the Festival was very much a national event with cities, towns and villages organising and promoting their own festivals, events or celebrations. Often these events resulted in a lasting legacy for the community, although with the passage of time some of these have since been lost. Perhaps you know of a commemorative plaque or structure near you - if you do then please email a picture and details of it to the 'admin' via the contact page so we can add it to the gallery.
